What is the difference between
Coaching & other group exercise classes?

Coaching is much more than simply following along in a workout.

Most group exercise classes simply guide participants through a sequence of exercises, counting your reps, cheerleading you on.

In this Group Coaching Series, you get that + the focus is on DEVELOPMENT — coaching helps you understand why specific exercises are chosen and how to perform movements effectively for YOU. This leads to more understanding, ownership and ultimately the ability to carry these skills with you beyond the 55-min sessions.

  • Participants receive guidance on movement strategy, body positioning, and how to adapt exercises for individual abilities.

  • Participants also begin with a brief one-on-one call to help ensure the program meets their individual goals and needs.

  • Because group sizes are intentionally small, there is time for discussion, questions, and personalized feedback throughout the series.

  • Includes educational lecture sessions that explain the anatomy and movement principles behind the exercises. Understanding the “why” helps participants build confidence and develop routines they can continue independently.

  • The six-week series creates accountability and allows skills to build progressively over time.

How does this group coaching program work?

  • Each class takes place LIVE through ZOOM.

Participants get access to each class recording for make-ups/missed classes or to take a second (or third!) look at the content between sessions.

Participants are also invited to join the discussion, ask questions and share in the ZN Coaching Community chat space in WhatsApp. You can also ask questions to your cohort or privately with the coach between sessions.

Participants will receive a tutorial/guide for optimizing their Zoom settings and camera for online coaching.

  • Week 1:

    • 1:1 Intake Call

    • Group Discovery Movement flow, working through basic movements to establish a baseline of ability, strength, mobility and coordination.

    Weeks 2-6:

Tuesday’s class will start with a short movement sequence, followed by a simple presentation sharing anatomy, mechanics, fascial lines - the WHAT, WHY and HOW - of learned exercises. Participants will work through specific drills and experiences to feel the explained concept through movement. This is the best place to troubleshoot exercises for your body and ability. This session invites discussion, troubleshooting and more guided coaching.

Thursday’s class will be more of a movement flow, moving through exercises explored in Tuesday’s class, but with more fluidity and integration.

Participants are expected to practice the Movement Flow class on their own over the weekend in order to build in the following week.

  • Each series is curated to support a specific SCI athlete group and related goals, so the program feels curated for you, while offering a supportive group environment.
